Culture

We aim to teach to the world the unique and rich cultural practices that are observed among Ezidis in different regions and the integral role they play within Kurdish cultural framework. The Ezidi Heritage Project is a non-profit project dedicated to the preservation and promotion of the cultural heritage of the Ezidi community.

Our Ezidi research project aims to bridge the gap between the diaspora and religion by providing comprehensive information on the theological aspects of Ezidism and detailed instructions on important religious practices. By offering these resources digitally, we aim to make it easier for our youth to learn about and immerse themselves in their religion, despite being separated from their religious community. Through this project, we hope to foster a stronger connection to their religious heritage and help preserve the rich traditions of Ezidism for future generations.

Due to obscurity and lack of information, as well as disdain from the neighbouring groups, Ezidism has been a target of countless misinterpretations and misconceptions both from outsiders and even its own members. To dispel these misconceptions we aim to:
Conduct a thorough, objective research on the Ezidi religion, its beliefs, practices, and history, and sharing the results of the research in a clear and accessible way. This could include publishing articles, books, or other resources that provide accurate information on the Ezidi religion, and presenting this information in a way that is easy to understand and free of bias.

In recent years, there has been a growing interest in the history of the Ezidis among academics. This has led to a greater understanding of previously-obscure subjects and brought new information to light. However, it still remains common to see various scholars, especially in the west, providing a lack of comprehensive and accurate information about Ezidi history in many publications, often based on a narrow set of sourcing and information. Our aim as an Ezidi research project is to provide a more nuanced and thorough understanding of Ezidi history through the use of digital resources. We hope to offer a straightforward yet comprehensive set of information that will be useful to both general readers and researchers alike, and by doing so, promote a more extensive understanding of the history of the Ezidis.

You can support the Ezidi Heritage Project by making a donation through PayPal, volunteering your time and expertise, or by sharing our message and raising awareness of the rich cultural heritage of the Ezidi community. Your support will help to ensure that the Ezidi heritage is preserved and celebrated for generations to come.
